R330 payable to SAHPRA. We have created a simple ‘pay button’ for online registered AfriCann patients. Both online and offline patients can pay via EFT or cash as directed on the forms above. The payment reference must be the patients ID number or Passport number. This is how we trace it back to you. No application will be accepted by SAHPRA without the proof of payment.
The latest fee can be obtained by referring to the Section on FEES on the SAHPRA website, www.sahpra.org.za.
The turnaround time is 24-48 hours (on working days). There are in fact, cases,
where this turnaround time, might be prolonged i.e. substances, unfamiliar
medication which requires extensive research to be done by the evaluators.
It is valid for a Maximum of 6 (six) months unless otherwise stated.
Should your doctor prescribe six months then mandatory fee payable to SAHPRA equates to R55 per month, with the full amount of R330 payable upfront.
A Treating Practitioner who may or may not belong to a health care facility (Institution) can apply.
No, a Treating Practitioner who takes full clinical responsibility (for monitoring safety, efficacy and quality of the unregistered medicine) must complete an online application.
This process can only be used with a valid approval number from a prior approval, no older than 10 months, for use of the same medicine for the same patient. Re-authorizations are intended for patients that require ongoing treatment, and whose authorizations are close to expiry or recently expired. You will still be required to pay the mandatory fee of R330 to SAHPRA. No application will be accepted by SAHPRA without the proof of payment.
A SAHPRA Section 21 reference number (e.g S_____ / ____ or OS_____), together with a patient Progress Report Form will need to be completed.
The patient and the doctor will describe the effect of and the reaction to the use of the medical cannabis from the previous approval. Some of the questions will include a brief description of both the Therapeutic effect, if assessed, and adverse drug reaction to the medical cannabis, if any.
AfriCann has partnered with Strainprint simple mobile tracking app that allows the patient to monitor their cannabis journey.
